We are proud to share that Amy Koski, Valley Village’s SASH (Support and Services at Home) Coordinator, was recently nominated for the Elizabeth Rowell Thompson Leadership Awards in Healthy Aging, presented by Windham Aging. This award honors leaders who make meaningful contributions to supporting older adults in Windham County.

Although Amy was not selected as one of this year’s recipients, she is absolutely a winner in our book. We are incredibly grateful for the impact she makes every day.

Amy’s work is based out of Valley Village’s independent living, but it extends far beyond our senior housing community. She supports older adults living independently across several rural towns in Windham County – many at risk of isolation – building strong, trusting relationships and tailoring support to each person’s needs and goals.

Amy has developed an engaging Community Healthy Living Plan that makes wellness both accessible and enjoyable. She created a DASH Test Kitchen, transforming healthy, diabetic-friendly cooking into a fun and interactive group activity. She also leads yoga and exercise classes, organizes educational programs at Valley Village’s independent living, and provides ongoing coaching to help participants manage chronic conditions with confidence.

In transitional and coordinated care, Amy is proactive and thorough. She communicates closely with families, hospitals, and community partners; visits participants following hospital discharge; and quickly mobilizes needed services. She leads the SASH team with clarity, collaboration, and genuine compassion.

Amy’s impact can be seen daily in the health, confidence, and well-being of the older adults she serves. Her community meals and celebrations – often featuring her own gourmet cooking – create connection and comfort. She coordinates shopping trips, monthly food bank deliveries, quarterly podiatry clinics, and volunteer support, ensuring that even those living alone in rural areas have access to essential resources and meaningful engagement.

A creative problem solver with a true can-do spirit, she consistently removes barriers and improves outcomes for those she serves. Through her compassion, ingenuity, and leadership, Amy strengthens Valley Village and the broader community. We are so thankful for all that she does.
